The Telephone Call From Switzerland

My reverie lasted a good six months. Of course, I was really busy running a company that was never far from a crisis. Then I received a phone call from Switzerland, from Graziella. In a very sweet and sincere manner she related to me that she had met another American businessman on a train in Switzerland; he had fallen in love with her and was urgently asking her to marry him within two months. So I had two months. I had been so busy with my company, I hadn’t said anything to my wife. Within minutes I had to review my whole life; it was now or never for this Mini-President.

I let the opportunity pass. I hated myself for lying when I wished Graziella all kinds of happiness.
